I haven’t always shared my story. In fact, I spent years hiding it! I was diagnosed with Celiac disease as a toddler. That might not seem like a big deal, but I grew up in the 70s and 80s. Gluten was not a household name, and gluten-free definitely didn’t exist as it does today. So, I learned how to cook, plan ahead, bring my own food, and hide my dietary restrictions. I also earned a bachelor’s in nutrition and became a Registered Dietitian.

Fast forward, I had two kids, a husband, a full-time job, and a very hectic schedule. As they say, the struggle is real. You may know the symptoms: fatigue, brain fog, weight gain, eczema. I followed a strict gluten free diet, so what was happening? In my quest for “the answer,” I quit my job and went back to school.
I now have a Master’s in Human Nutrition and Functional Medicine from the University of Western States. To date, it’s the only master’s program collaborating with the Institute of Functional Medicine (IFM), the organization that founded and developed the key functional medicine concepts in use today.
I also became a certified LEAP therapist (CLT), which means I have advanced clinical training in managing adverse food reactions with an emphasis on food sensitivities. The LEAP protocol is an evidence-based and highly effective eating plan for food sensitivity related health problems. LEAP utilizes the patented Mediator Release blood Test (MRT) to help uncover food and chemical sensitivities
Finally, I no longer have eczema, fatigue, brain fog, and weight issues. I spent a lot of time and energy learning to solve my own health issues.
